I've heard of people using pom poms for counting and toothpicks in stacks of ten to illustrate the idea of tens. Then you can take them apart to show the relationship of ones. I haven't tried it though, but I'm looking for the same answer you are.
math is my least favorite subject too, but my husbands favorite...and that is how it ended up in our family 4 kids love math the most, 4 kids like math the least...so I suppose we do pass it on to our kids. I resorted to board games like battle ship or mancala..they liked playing games to learn... good luck!! i am your newest follower from the hop..pls follow back if you can.
Hi! We use the Math U See curriculum. The children like it because it is hands-on, manipulative based. The lessons are quick and to the point.
We do many manipulative based math investigations. Here's a link to our math section. Hope you find a few fun ideas. :) http://waddleeahchaa.com/category/at-school/math-at-school/
